Virtual TwinCAT sensors

Master / Bachelor thesis: Virtual TwinCAT sensors

EtherCAT is an industrial interface that can be used for real time communication with industrial machines. In the T-EXDIZ project, sensors were placed in a machine which were continuously sending their measurements through EtherCAT. Via ADS protocol the values were read in the simulation software VEROSIM and the machine was adjusted accordingly to obtain a digital twin of the real machine.

In this thesis a virtual sensor shall be programmed that behaves like a real sensor on a virtual machine and broadcasts its value through EtherCAT.

Programming knowledge in C++ desired.
