A central aspect of almost all eRobotics applications is the graphic representation/visualization, i.e. rendering of the simulation state – realistically and with a high frame or refresh rate. eRobotics applications must be able to process information from CAD systems or geographic information systems (GIS) to this end and perform this as unchanged as possible and without laborious offline conversion. For this reason the innovations at MMI combine techniques for realistic graphic representations as prepared by state-of-the-art graphic cards today with upstream online optimization technology and new graphics effects. Over and above this, these technologies are also deployed as the basis of a variety of simulation algorithms such as the simulation of optical sensors for instance.
